Why is the CME Office requiring the use of a Financial Disclosure Slide for CME activities?
-The use of a financial disclosure slide demonstrates our commitment to comply with full faculty disclosure requirements. This mechanism informs our learners if such a relationship exists, or no relationships have been identified. The information is communicated to the learner prior to the educational activity.
Why is the Continuing Medical Education Office requesting to review my power point presentation for CME activities at which I present?
-It is a requirement by our accrediting body that the use of trade names or other commercial information should not be used in a CME presentation or handout. We often find the inadvertent use of trade names instead of the generic designation for medications, device or other products which are being discussed with respect to diagnosis or therapy. The brand names constitutes product placement as well as product recognition, therefore, constitutes commercial bias. Slides should not contain images of trademarked medical devices or pharmaceutical agent or product logos. Information about, or links to any commercial websites are also prohibited if that website offers diagnostic or therapeutic products or services, or other health care related goods for sale. Please note that we do not ask faculty to change the educational content of their talk.
What is the difference between Category 1 and Category 2 CME credit?
-Category 1 credit can only be granted by an accredited provider. Physicians must have a certificate or transcript from the provider showing the credit.
-Category 2 credit can be claimed for any educational activity that is not sponsored for Category 1 credit. Organizations do not grant Category 2 credit. The physician must track their own category 2 credit activities.
What kinds of activities does CHW-EV sponsor for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™?

What is Internet Point of Care learning?
-According to the American Medical Association, Internet Point of Care (PoC) CME describes structured, self-directed, online learning by physicians on topics relevant to their clinical practice.
How many credits can I earn for performing an online search regarding a clinical question?
