Vascular Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging provides real-time images of the inside of the body by exposing a portion of the body to high-frequency sound waves. Also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, ultrasound exams do not use x-ray. The real-time nature of this exam is helpful in viewing movement of the body's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through vessels.

Vascular ultrasound take a close look at the body's veins and arteries to help monitor blood flow to organs and tissues, locate and identify blockage or other abnormalities, detect blood clots in the legs or arms, determine wither the patient is a candidate for angioplasty, detect aneurysm and determine the source and severity of varicose veins.
