Philip J. Fracica, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer for Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. Prior to returning to the Dignity Health family, he served as the Chief Medical Officer at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Tex.
Dr. Fracica’s professional background includes leadership roles as Hospital Medical Director at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Mo. He began his career with Dignity Health in 1994 as the Adult Critical Care Services Medical Director at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center/Barrow Neurological Institute.
Dr. Fracica earned his master’s degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and his medical degree from State University of New York. He completed his residency and fellowship programs in the Division of Allergy, Critical Care and Respiratory Medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., where he served as a faculty member from 1987 to 1994.
